Every person who walks on earth has a talent. Some people work on it and turn this talent into an art. Some don't and their talent will be reduced to a hobby. It never transcends the boundaries.
Some people are experts at Bheja Fry I am an expert at Bhajji Fry.
Cooking is an art in which I have been interested in for a long time. By the time my classmates were figuring out the Pythagoras Theorem I was discovering the formulaes of Cooking.
I still vividly remember the very first time I started to cook. I threw in some boiled dal, a li'l bit of veggies and voila! Sambar is ready except it had the water left out. In those days my Dad was "The Shikar" when it came to tasting the results of my cooking experiments. He tasted my Sambar and said he liked it but I suspect he said that so that I won't break my heart. But his words inspired me to start cooking seriously.
The very next day when I went to school I was the cooking teacher. During lunchtime, me and my three friends started finding new methods of cooking with the usual ingredients.
This was an exciting thing for all of us! We started using our techniques and the result was tasty, delicious food. But the next day we were all absent in class. The Reason: We all suffered from "tummy ache:-)"
But we didn't give up. We loved to bunk class and we started going from making rolls, cookies, french fries, crisps to chicken, mutton and fish. We were nothing less than 7 star hotel chefs for our friends.
We used to have our own menu on our birthday parties. We four friends made a rule that we had to make cakes of different flavours and present it to the person who was celebrating their birthday. When we couldn't eat our own cakes then we used to hit each other with the cakes.
Cooking was our favourite passtime, we truly enjoyed discovering new techniques, we had a lot of fun. It was evrything for us.
Today, one of our group has got married. And as the saying goes "Stomach is the way to the heart" she has won her new family with her tasty cooking!
The second friend chose his career in Hotel Management. His line of work is closely related to his childhood hobby.
The third person is doing her engineering, as she stays alone in the hostel and she is addicted to her mum's food. Our hobby has helped her to manage on her own.
The fourth person is Me. I am an undergraduate and today I have started cooking healthy food with both dal and vegetables.I cherish my days as a cook and I have enjoyed sharing my experiences online.
The four letters " C-O-O-K" kept the four of us together. Oh by the way I have learnt to do Bheja Fry.
